Celebrating National Poetry Day 2017: Contains Strong Language

Contains Strong Language, a poetry festival representing the hugely vibrant mix of poetry in the UK today will kick off celebrations for National Poetry Day 2017.
Taking place in Hull and running from National Poetry Day, 28th September to 1st October, Contains Strong Language will be accompanied by a season of programmes across BBC TV, Radio and Online which will celebrate poetry past and present, in all its forms. It is produced by BBC Radio in partnership with Hull UK City of Culture, Hull City Council, Humber Mouth, The British Council, BBC Learning, Wrecking Ball Press and National Poetry Day.
At the heart of the festival will be The Hull 17, seventeen poets who have been commissioned to produce new work: Bohdan Piasecki, Dean Wilson, Fred Voss, Hannah Silva, Harry Giles, Helen Mort, Imtiaz Dharker, Isaiah Hull, Jacob Polley, Joe Hakim, Joelle Taylor, Kate Fox, Kate Tempest, Louise Wallwein, Michael Symmons Roberts, Vicky Foster and Zena Edwards.
Contains Strong Language also features several new projects that absolutely everyone can get involved with – such as a mammoth washing line of poetry to be created from 2017 new poems about city landmarks written by Hull residents.
