The Welsh Books Council is a registered charity enabled by Welsh Government funding to support the development of the book industry in Wales and to run several programmes supporting literacy and reading. Founded in 1961, our established aim and purpose is to serve the book industry in Wales in both Welsh and English. We distribute grants to publishers, run training courses and offer a range of services to publishers, such as editing, design, distribution and marketing. We work with many partners, including schools, libraries, and other third sector organisations to stimulate and nurture interest in books and reading.
