Poetry workshop with Samantha Maw

September 14, 2023

Do you write poetry, or would like to? Would you like to talk about your poetry and share it with other likeminded creatives; or to learn a bit more about the process by taking part in a workshop? Or perhaps you haven’t yet put pen to paper but would like to give it a try.
Whatever your relationship with poetry, come long for a FREE fun and practical workshop at Scunthorpe Central Library. Samantha will share her writing hacks to help you get started with your poems, whatever your experience or ability. Bring pen and paper!

Saturday 30 September, 11am to 12.30pm. Tea and coffee provided.

Samantha Maw has worked as a teacher in the UK and abroad and currently works as a private English tutor in Spalding and the surrounding areas. As well as teaching, she has had a go at hosting her own literature-based radio show and has had (very!) a short-lived career as a bookseller. She writes and performs poetry and is part of Lincoln Creative Writers. Samantha has also had her writing featured in The Blue Nib and Impspired and hopes to publish more widely in the future.
Her poetry anthology ‘Goat on a bike’ is a collection of quirky and witty poems with irresistible titles such as ‘Song for a supply teacher’ and ‘Sonnet for a Yeller Belly’.
