PAUSE: The Immersive Place of Poetry Film – Online Virtual Gallery and Events at Birmingham Literature Festival.

Join Rebecca Goldsmith, Poetry Filmmaker in Residence, for an immersive adventure in poetry film at the Birmingham Literature Festival from 5th to 8th October 2023. On National Poetry Day, Rebecca will be launching a new collection of poetry films in a Virtual Gallery, available online at She will be popping up throughout the festival weekend, with an immersive VR poetry pod at the Library of Birmingham and screenings to accompany author events at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Virtual Gallery:
On Thursday 5th October we will celebrate National Poetry Day with the launch of a virtual gallery of poetry films. Creative Workshop:
On Sunday 8th October, join Rebecca for an Outdoor Adventure in Poetry Film at The Roundhouse, exploring themes of motion and pause along the canals. No filmmaking experience necessary, just a desire to pause and reflect. Details and tickets on the workshop page:

Immersive Poetry Pod:
Be transported to a reimagined nature reserve in a 360° Immersive Poetry Pod. This will be popping up at various times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the festival weekend. It will be stationed outside the Studio Theatre, in the foyer that connects the Rep to the Library of Birmingham.
