Celebrate National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day is a UK-wide celebration of poetry, taking place on 6th October 2022, and our theme is The Environment.

Over the years we’ve had poetry in schools, poetry in burger vans, poetry on the news, poetry on the side of buildings, poetry strapped to the legs of carrier pigeons, and much much more.

All we ask on the day is that you celebrate poetry, and use the hashtag #NationalPoetryDay to let us know about it. Below are some suggestions and links to help you get started.

We will be showcasing a selection of poems on the National Poetry Day theme to get you inspired. Check back here soon!

And don’t forget, we always like to know what you’re reading and enjoying. Tell us using the hashtag #NationalPoetryDay.
