Any Change? Poetry in a Hostile Environment

“In an increasingly hostile environment for migrant communities, it’s important to make connections for mutual support”, says Ian Duhig, and what better way to explore such connections than through poetry? With support from the Forward Arts Foundation and the David Oluwale Memorial Association, Ian ran a series of poetry workshops in Leeds, bringing together members of different communities to share and write poetry. Out of those workshops comes a pamphlet, Any Change?, an engrossing collection that, as described in a recent review, ‘Tardis-like’, is more capacious than the sum of its poetic parts. Ian explains the project for us in this blog.
